"IT NEVER LETS YOU DOWN" - HOEKSEMA'S REGIONALE MILEUDIENSTEN

Monday morning in Grootegast, Groningen. While most people are still sipping their first cup of coffee, the trucks of Hoeksema’s Regional Environmental Services (HRM) are already on the road. Across the country, drivers are collecting, sorting, and processing industrial and household waste.

The daily challenge? Serving customers as quickly as possible to their satisfaction, in a safe and sustainable way. For this, HRM uses the door alarm systems and hook arm systems from VDL Container Systems, for containers ranging from 3 to 45 m³.

Sustainable systems, sustainable collaboration
VDL has been a trusted supplier for years. Sustainability is an important factor. “Simple often means good. We like that,” says operational manager Jan Kingma about VDL's systems. “They are robust, easy to maintain, and last a long time. THAT is sustainable too.”

The systems run smoothly every day. Jan: “The lifting, transferring, lowering, and tipping of the containers goes quickly: even a child can do the laundry. The systems are also intuitive and quick to learn.”

Systems that do what they are supposed to do
The drivers are also enthusiastic: according to Thijs-Jan Boerma, the door alarm system is easy to operate. “It never lets you down.” He also points out his net system: “This means I have to climb less on the car. That makes my work safer and easier.”

About the VDL hook lift, driver Sjouke Kingma says: “The system is quick, strong, and user-friendly. I am super proud of it.”

Jan confirms that. They receive little to no complaints from drivers. If something does happen, a partner in Groningen is ready to carry out maintenance. If that isn't possible, they can contact VDL directly. "It is always arranged quickly," says Jan.

Good experiences
Would they recommend VDL? The three gentlemen nod enthusiastically yes. “We have good experiences with it,” says Jan. “VDL is also a company you can sit down with to see how it can be even better in the future.” Thijs-Jan is happy to show his system to others: “Then you’re quickly convinced.”
